Waldwick Firefighters Handled Route 17 Vehicle Fire

Waldwick, N.J. — September 29 — On Tuesday, firefighters from the Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire that was still burning on Route 17. When they arrived, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames and immediately started efforts to put the fire out.

The firefighters used a handline to help control the fire while working in a heavily trafficked area of the highway. They had to be cautious around moving vehicles to ensure their own safety and maintain a safe space for operations.

After the fire was brought under control, the team inspected the vehicle for any remaining hot spots and made sure the scene was secure.

There were no reports of injuries, and once all fire activities were complete, the road was cleared for traffic.

This incident highlights the importance of fire crews being able to handle vehicle fires on busy roads while managing potential traffic dangers.
