RescueTechs Leads Farm Hazard Training for Local Departments

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On March 8th, members of many area fire departments attended a Farm Emergency Awareness training class presented by RescueTechs, LLC. Firefighters spent almost six hours discussing frequent threats seen during farm-related situations.

The session began with classroom education on farm operations' dangers and rescue considerations. Following the lecture session and lunch, attendees went a local farm to check farm implements, machinery cabs, and discuss potential risks with the property owner.

The Lesher family hosted the group at Way-Har Farms on Route 183, giving firemen a chance to observe equipment up close and discuss safety issues on working farms.

The training also included firefighters from Summit Station Fire Company, Shoey Fire Company, and Shartlesville Community Fire Company No. 1.
