LAKE WINOLA, PA — April 1st — Using department equipment, members of the Department Lake Winola Fire Company, located at 1204 SR 307, PO Box 73, Lake Winola, PA, underwent pump operations training. Firefighters examined hose connections, water flow protocols, and pump controls during the clear evening weather. Operating the apparatus pump, setting up a water supply, and controlling pressure during fireground operations were the main topics of instruction.
Maintaining preparedness requires pump training, particularly for volunteer agencies whose members routinely update their abilities outside of emergency situations. Firefighters can more effectively feed water to attack lines during structural fires and other situations if they practice these activities. Regular equipment training, according to department officials, enhances cooperation between pump operators and hose crews during active operations and helps personnel remain familiar with apparatus tasks.
