Windham, NH — March 19th — The American Heart Association's 2026 Mission: Lifeline EMS Silver Award was given to the Windham Fire Department and Emergency Management. When it comes to treating heart attacks, strokes, and other urgent medical crises, EMS organizations that satisfy essential performance criteria are highlighted by the national recognition. Lifeline's mission is to enhance patient care from the time a 911 call is made through hospital treatment and EMS transfer. Improving patient outcomes requires early detection, stabilization, and coordinated care across regional health systems.

The award is a testament to Windham's EMS staff's dedication to providing top-notch prehospital care. Ryan Pitts, a firefighter and paramedic, was honored for his contributions to the department's achievement of the award.
