Litchfield Crews Responded to Londonderry for Mutual Aid

Litchfield, NH — September 18 — Litchfield Fire Rescue personnel went to Londonderry to offer mutual aid and help keep emergency services running smoothly while Londonderry firefighters were handling an incident.

This response showed the ongoing mutual aid agreement between the two communities.

Litchfield and Londonderry often help each other out when more firefighters or equipment are needed. Records from Litchfield town showed that the fire department had provided mutual aid to Londonderry several times in recent years.

Litchfield Fire Rescue is a combined department with both full-time and paid-on-call firefighters.

The department has three engines, a tanker, rescue equipment, and other emergency vehicles. It provides fire suppression, emergency medical care, and rescue services.

In a similar recent situation, Litchfield Engine 2 covered Londonderry Central Station while Londonderry firefighters were dealing with a fire.

This station coverage allowed Londonderry crews to stay available for the incident and kept another emergency resource in the area.

Londonderry’s fire department also has a strong working relationship with Litchfield through mutual aid and emergency communication systems.
