March 3, 2026 — The National Weather Service in Albany, New York, issued a Winter Weather Advisory at 9:03 a.m. EST affecting portions of northwestern Connecticut, including Litchfield County, as well as areas of western Massachusetts, eastern New York, and southern Vermont. According to officials, mixed precipitation is expected to impact the region from noon Tuesday through 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, with total snow and sleet accumulations ranging from 1 to 3 inches and localized totals of up to 4 inches in higher elevations such as the southern Green Mountains and Adirondack foothills. Ice accumulations of up to two-tenths of an inch are also possible. Forecasters warn that light snow will develop during the afternoon before transitioning to sleet and freezing rain into the evening hours, creating hazardous travel conditions, particularly during the evening commute. The Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Company and emergency officials are urging residents to slow down, exercise caution on roadways, and remain alert to changing weather conditions as the storm system moves through the region.
