Construction of Hazleton Fire Department’s new Engine 143 reached an important milestone this week as the apparatus pump and water tank were officially delivered. Department officials shared updated images on December 3 showing the major components now on site, marking a significant step forward in the build process of the new engine.
The arrival of the pump and tank represents one of the most critical phases in the construction of a fire engine, as these systems form the core of the apparatus’s firefighting capabilities. With these components now in place, work will continue on mounting, plumbing, and integration of additional equipment, followed by electrical work, finishing details, and testing.
Once completed, Engine 143 is expected to enhance operational readiness and improve emergency response capabilities for the Hazleton area. Department members noted that additional updates will be shared as construction progresses toward final assembly and placement into service.
