In the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 2, 2025, fire crews from Hazleton City Fire Department were dispatched to assist Hazle Township Fire with a residential structure fire at 174 Forest Hills Acres. The call was received at approximately 1:24 a.m., reporting a deck fire attached to a residence that had begun to spread into the home.
Upon arrival, firefighters found active fire conditions involving the exterior deck with extension into the structure. Hazleton City Fire’s Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) arrived on scene and immediately went to work supporting interior and exterior operations. Crews faced significant challenges throughout the incident, including high wind conditions that accelerated fire spread and water supply issues that complicated suppression efforts.
Firefighters worked for several hours under difficult conditions, with operations continuing well into the morning hours. As of 8:00 a.m., crews were still actively battling remaining fire and hot spots to ensure full extinguishment and prevent further spread. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by fire officials. Authorities have not yet released information regarding damage estimates.
