On a cold Saturday morning, December 20, 2025, at approximately 0815 hours, the Camden County Fire Alarm Room dispatched the Winslow Twp Fire Department and automatic aid units to 110 Center Avenue in Chesilhurst, Camden County, for the report of a kitchen fire. The Winslow Twp Fire Department is the primary fire department for the Borough of Chesilhurst since Chesilhurst does not have an active fire company. First due units reported heavy fire showing from Division A of a one story, wood frame, single family dwelling. Winslow Twp FD Engine Company 25 quickly stretched the initial handline to attack the fire while leaving room to position the first due Ladder Company. Other companies stretched an additional two handlines and the Berlin Fire Company stretched its aerial as a precautionary measure. Fire department water tender units were on location due to fire hydrants being scarce in this part of Camden County. The searches were negative, extensive overhaul was performed, and the fire was extinguished before placing the fire under control at about the thirty minute mark.
