Mutual Aid Supports Birmingham Court Fire Response

Mystic, Connecticut — December 14 — A multi-agency response was triggered when a structure fire at 2 Birmingham Court was reported early in the morning. In concert with the City of Groton Fire Department and a number of regional allies, the Old Mystic Fire Department (Official) responded.
In order to protect firefighters and the general public, crews sought to contain the fire and assist with scene operations. The cause of the fire is being looked into by the Groton Fire Marshal's Office. Residents impacted by the disaster received aid from the American Red Cross. Strong regional mutual aid coordination was demonstrated by the assistance given by Groton Telecommunicators, Submarine Base Firefighters, Groton Ambulance, New London Firefighters, Mystic Fire Department, Gales Ferry, Noank, Centre Groton, EBFD, Groton Police, and L&M Paramedics.
