February 19, 2026 — The Town of Canton Fire and EMS Department responded yesterday afternoon to Route 44 in the area of Davidson Chevrolet for a reported two-vehicle motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, crews found significant damage to both vehicles and determined that one occupant was trapped inside. Firefighters utilized hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the individual while EMS personnel provided patient care at the scene. The roadway was temporarily impacted as emergency responders worked to stabilize the vehicles, treat those involved, and clear debris from the area. Additional details regarding injuries and the cause of the crash were not immediately released.
