Mystic, Connecticut — December 6 — In remembrance of the 2,403 military personnel and civilians who perished in the attack on Pearl Harbour on December 7, 1941, the Old Mystic Fire Department (Official) honored National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The agency honored the bravery of first responders, military members, and civilians who had to deal with harsh circumstances both during and after the attack.
Reflection on sacrifice, service, and dedication to duty was facilitated by the memory. Because of their personal commitment to public safety, firefighters nationwide have deep connections to these ideals. By commemorating this national holiday, Old Mystic Fire joined departments across the country in paying tribute to those who served and reiterating the significance of respecting history while carrying on with community protection and service.
