Due to a reported car accident, Danbury Fire, Police, and EMS units were called to Wooster Heights Road near Lee Farms at 4:56 a.m. on Sunday, November 30.
Responders discovered a severely damaged car that had collided with a tree when they arrived. At the scene, no operator was discovered. Command concluded that the occupant might have been hurt and at risk for hypothermia due to the crash's intensity and the temperature being close to 33°F. While police units investigated nearby roads, firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to conduct a systematic line search of the Lee Farms slope. Captain Bart McCleary found the injured operator in a wooded area about 700 feet away from the vehicle in about ten minutes.
The victim was reached by fire, police, and emergency medical services, who then removed them from the scene and took them to a nearby hospital. The cause of the collision is being looked into by the Danbury Police Department.
