December 16, 2025 | The Bay Shore Fire Department responded yesterday to a report of an outside fire on Penataquit Avenue in the Penataquit Village section of Bay Shore. Engine 3-1-3 was first on scene, followed shortly by Engine 3-1-1, with Bay Shore FD Chiefs 30 and 32 also responding. Firefighters encountered an active outside fire involving a large dumpster and quickly stretched a handline to bring the flames under control. Suffolk County Police Department Unit 304 assisted on scene. Officials reported no fire extension to nearby structures, no civilian injuries, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
