Stafford Springs, Connecticut — 9th December — As part of a tanker assignment for a fully engaged structure fire, West Stafford Fire Department Tanker 144 was dispatched to the Town of Willington. Additional personnel from throughout Tolland County were brought in when the event was elevated to a second alarm.

In order to bolster suppression efforts in a region with restricted hydrant access, Tanker 144 was assigned to the water shuttle operation. Under the incident command structure, crews worked closely with other responding departments. After persistent efforts, the fire was contained. Neither residents nor emergency workers reported any injuries. Tanker 144 was discharged and put back into service when tasks were finished.
