Mutual Aid Supports Willington Fire at Residential Blaze

Willington, Connecticut — 9th December — Several mutual-aid teams from Willington Fire Department #1, located at 426 River Road, responded to a reported structure fire at a home on Village Hill Road early in the morning. A well-involved home was discovered by first-arriving units, which prompted a need for more resources after the initial alarm.

When performing suppression operations, firefighters followed the incident command system. Around 12:30 p.m., the fire was contained, and by 2:00 p.m., units had cleared the area. Residents and responding staff did not sustain any injuries. Mansfield Fire, IAFF Local S-15 UConn Fire-Rescue, Staffordville Fire, West Stafford Fire, Tolland Fire, Stafford Ambulance, and Willington Public Works were among the supporting organizations. The investigation is being conducted by the Willington Fire Marshal's Office.
