Storrs, Connecticut — 7th December — In collaboration with the University of Connecticut Division of Athletics, the IAFF Local S-15 UConn Fire-Rescue held a monthly training session at the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium for the Tolland County Dive Team and the Willimantic Police Department Dive Team.
In order to boost confidence and reinforce fundamental dive operations, certified divers and support staff rotated through a number of skill stations. In a controlled pool setting, training concentrated on coordination, equipment utilization, and communication between surface personnel and divers. Agencies can review protocols, improve interagency collaboration, and stay prepared for water-related catastrophes through joint training sessions like this one. Throughout the transition, UConn Fire-Rescue supported facilities and oversaw safety, helping to maintain regional readiness.
