Tolland Fire Responds to Two-Car MVA on Merrow Road

Tolland, Connecticut — 15th December — A reported two-car motor vehicle collision near the junction of Baxter Street and Merrow Road prompted the response of Tolland Fire Department units. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that two passenger cars were involved and started to secure the area.
Crews helped with vehicle stabilization, hazard mitigation, and coordination with law enforcement and emergency medical services. Merrow Road was narrowed to one lane while staff and equipment worked on the road due to emergency activities. Drivers were cautioned to be cautious and to anticipate delays. In order to facilitate safe and well-coordinated actions, the incident was handled under the incident command system. Command released Tolland units and put them back into duty once assigned tasks were finished and traffic conditions improved.
