Tolland, Connecticut — 13th December — Tolland Fire Department personnel took part in a local Wreaths Across America ceremony honoring local troops who were put to rest. The annual event is a part of a national initiative that unites locals, veterans' organizations, and first responders.

Firefighters joined others in laying wreaths at gravesites, attended the ceremony, and helped with event operations. The program's main goals are to honor departed service members, honor those who are still serving, and teach the next generation the importance of military duty. Participation of the community in such events continues to be a key component of the department's goal. Continued support for local veterans, their families, and the customs honoring their service is reflected in participation.
