Tolland, Connecticut — 24th November — Just past Exit 69 on Interstate 84 West, the Tolland Fire Department responded to a working vehicle fire. When firefighters arrived, they discovered that a passenger car was involved and started putting out the flames.
Crews worked to safeguard the route, control dangers, and secure the car. Interstate 84 West was temporarily stopped in the region due to fire department operations and safety concerns. While rescuers worked along the highway, drivers were advised to look for alternate routes and use caution. Fire, police, and highway officials worked together to manage the crisis under the incident command system. Units were freed and put back into service when the fire was put out and the situation was deemed safe.
