Stafford Springs, Connecticut — December 8 — Stafford Fire Department No. 1, Inc. firefighters finished practical training that concentrated on the company's first actions in the event of a building fire. Water supply establishment, forced access, hose line deployment and advancement, search and rescue, and ladder placement were among the evolutions. In order to replicate the zero-visibility circumstances found at working fires, crews used blackout shields over facepieces while operating in the dark. The exercise focused on task coordination, communication, and teamwork in the early phases of an incident. The importance of practical training that equips officers, firemen, and incident commanders for high-risk scenarios is emphasized in fire service guidelines. Stafford firefighters improved operational readiness and reaffirmed safe, efficient techniques utilized during the first stage of structure fire response by exercising these crucial skills collectively.
