Woodstock, Connecticut — December 3 — The Woodstock Academy's Residential Life staff received training from Woodstock EMS personnel on campus medical readiness. How local EMS works, when to call for an ambulance, and what data dispatchers need to handle a response were all covered in the presentation. In a residential school setting, crews also gave hands-on training in first aid and basic medical emergency care. Early detection, scene safety, and treatment until EMS arrived were prioritized. This kind of school-based training helps achieve statewide public safety objectives that encourage collaboration between emergency services and educational institutions. The meeting reinforced uniform response procedures and improved communication between responders and school personnel. Officials from Woodstock EMS and the academy stated that more collaborative training is planned to promote continued preparedness.
