Driver Extricated From Vehicle in Water During Dorchester Crash

Plymouth Fire-Rescue and Wentworth Fire & EMS responded on automatic assistance when the Rumney Fire Department was called to a car accident on Route 118 in Dorchester shortly after midnight on December 5. According to early accounts, the driver was still inside a car that was off the road in a pond. When Chief Hacker arrived, he verified that the car was in knee-deep water and well off the road. While more resources came, patient care was started. In order to properly remove the patient and move them to Plymouth Ambulance, crews devised a plan. The sufferer was taken to a nearby medical facility.

Rumney crews remained on scene for vehicle removal. All units were back in service by 3:00 a.m.
