Members of the New Haven Fire Department, Shelton Fire Department, Shelton Police Department, and many other local organizations gathered to give New Haven Firefighter Chris Brainard a hero's send-off.

During a respectful procession and ceremony, firefighters and officers united in remembrance of Brainard's service and dedication to the fire service, paying their final respects. The high attendance demonstrated the widespread regard for him in both towns and departments. In commemoration of Firefighter Brainard's life, service, and devotion, the Shelton Fire Department joined the fire department.
