East Putnam, Connecticut — December 16 — At a working structure fire, West Glocester Fire and Rescue received mutual aid assistance from Engine Tanker 179 and Tanker 179 of the East Putnam Fire Department, located at 263 Providence Turnpike. Under the established incident command system, East Putnam forces were tasked with supporting fire suppression and water supply activities upon arrival. To continue ongoing fireground operations, crews worked alongside West Glocester staff and other supporting services. This kind of mutual help response is typical in the area, particularly during working fires that call for more equipment and personnel. As an example of the ongoing cooperation amongst nearby fire departments, East Putnam personnel stayed on the site until their mission was over and they were released by headquarters.
