East Putnam, Connecticut — November 22 — On Killingly Avenue close to Hurry Hill Road, crews from the East Putnam Fire Department, located at 263 Providence Turnpike, responded to a single car versus utility pole collision that resulted in significant injuries. Firefighters and EMS workers responded to the incident near Route 12 by securing the area and tending to patients. A LIFESTAR chopper carried one patient to a nearby trauma center so they could receive additional care. A second patient was taken to Day Kimball Hospital at the ALS level by ground ambulance. Firefighters helped with traffic control, scene stabilization, and coordination with utility technicians, law enforcement, and emergency medical services. It was anticipated that Route 12 will be closed for several hours due to emergency operations and infrastructure assessment.
