November 24, 2025 — Members of the Robert Fulton Fire Company participated in a hands-on training session this week focused on responding to medical emergencies and operating safely in hazardous environments. The training emphasized scene size-up, hazard recognition, patient care, and coordinated removal under simulated real-world conditions.
During the exercise, rescue “dummies” were strategically placed throughout the station in confined and potentially hazardous areas to replicate various injury scenarios. Crews were tasked with assessing each scene, identifying risks, developing a mitigation plan, and safely packaging and removing the patient while providing appropriate medical care.
The evening concluded on a lighter note as members gathered to celebrate a birthday with cake and ice cream, reinforcing the camaraderie that plays an important role in volunteer service.
