November 14, 2025 — The past 48 hours have been especially demanding for the Newberry Township Fire Department, with crews responding to multiple critical incidents that highlighted their training, teamwork, and commitment to public safety.

On Wednesday morning, November 12, the station and mutual aid partners were dispatched to the 10 block of Maple Hill Court for a reported residential structure fire. An engine arrived in under five minutes and quickly contained a fire caused by a pellet stove malfunction, preventing further damage to the home. No injuries were reported.

Later that day, crews handled an outside investigation, locating a recreational fire and clearing the scene. Shortly afterward, responders were dispatched to the 3100 block of Lewisberry Road for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Upon arrival, the Rescue found a three-vehicle collision with multiple injuries. One patient was trapped, and crews—working alongside mutual aid partners—performed a door and roof removal followed by a dash lift. Tragically, one patient was pronounced deceased at the scene, while another was transported to a local trauma center.

On Thursday afternoon, November 13, following the department’s regular meeting, the Rescue was dispatched to assist Station 28 with a rollover crash in Goldsboro involving partial ejection. Crews stabilized the vehicle, and Rescue EMTs assisted with patient care until EMS arrived. The Fire Chief also cleared the scene to establish a helicopter landing zone for aeromedical transport.

Department leadership extended sincere thanks to all firefighters, EMS personnel, fire police, and mutual aid partners involved in these incidents. Officials noted that while the past two days were challenging, the professionalism and dedication shown by responders ensured the best possible outcomes under difficult circumstances. The department also expressed its appreciation for continued community support and shared condolences with those affected by the incidents.
