EAST ISLIP, NY - On Saturday, December 9, 2023, the Brentwood Fire Department hosted the 2023 Matthew's Wish Parade of Toys. The parade went from East Islip, NY to Brentwood FD headquarters, located at 125 4th Street. Matthew's Wish is a non-profit organization started by Matthew's parents. Matthew, who passed away at the age of 13, had one dream which was to fill an 18-wheeler full of toys and send it to a children’s hospital for sick children. Matthew's Wish asked for any new toys unwrapped to be brought and donated. Various fire departments and ambulance companies attended the parade from around Suffolk County, NY.
