Vehicle Gets Pummeled in Crash in Shirley

Shirley NY- On the afternoon of December 10th the Brookhaven FD and Shirley ambulance were dispatched to an MVA with reported heavy rescue at William Floyd Parkway Near Havenwood Dr. Shirley ambulance was first on scene and advised the had a confirmed multi car crash with 1 vehicle almost into the woods. Brookhaven Assistant Chief Anthony Verni {5-3-32} arrived a short time later. Chief Verni was briefed by EMS that they still had I person 1 one of the vehicles. The were however able to extricate the victim.
Rescue 3 and Rescue 4 from Brookhaven continued into the scene and the crews assisted with loading the patient and cleaning up the scene of debris and fluids. Shirley Community Ambulance transported at least 1 patient to a local hospital. Fire police assisted officers from SCPD 7th Precinct with traffic control while firefighters and EMS operated. All Brookhaven units were back in service in under a half hour.
