Firefighters Pull Unconscious Man from Apartment Fire

NEWINGTON, CT - Fire and police departments responded to 1433 Willard Avenue for a report of smoke inside of the apartment building around 2:40 A.M., on December 4th. Firefighters entered a first-floor apartment and were met with a heavy smoke condition. Firefighters found fire in the kitchen and quickly started knocking it down. Other firefighters did a search of the apartment and found a man unconscious and removed him from the building. The kitchen fire was quickly knocked down, and the victim was taken to a burn center in serious condition. The cause is under investigation.
