Three-Alarm Commercial Fire Brings Crews to Main Street in Ansonia

Ansonia, Conn. — September 9 — Late Wednesday morning, Ansonia firefighters answered a three-alarm commercial blaze on Main Street, deploying a large-diameter hose line and ladder operations to combat the fire.
Members of the Eagle Hose & Hook & Ladder Co. No. Six participated as part of the Ansonia Fire Department. Engine 6 deployed a 2½-inch handline to combat and extinguish the fire, while Ladder 7 gained access into the building to enable firefighters to locate concealed flames and assess for potential spread.
The three-alarm designation summoned extra resources to the scene as firefighters battled the commercial blaze. The response showcased the regional cooperation among neighboring fire companies when a larger incident demands extra personnel and equipment.
