Mastic Fire Department Enlists Santa's Help at Tree Lighting

MASTIC, NY - On the evening of Friday, December 2nd, the Mastic Fire Department invited the community out to their department's annual Christmas tree lighting. The lighting was held at the tree located on Mastic Road and Poospatuck Lane.
The event kicked off with some carol singing performed by the William Paca Middle School Chorus. Once the chorus performance was completed the Chief of the Department made some remarks to those in attendance and introduced Legislator of the 3rd District, Jim Mazarella,
who would assist with lighting the tree.
Once the tree was lit up shining bright, a special guest, Santa Claus, was escorted by the members of the Mastic Fire Department down to the tree to meet the children and other guests. Over 300 community members attended.
