On December 2, 2025, Camden County Fire Rescue announced that Hwy 17 had reopened following a wreck involving a log truck at the intersection of Hwy 17 and Old Jefferson Road. The roadway had been closed earlier in the day as multiple emergency units worked the scene.
Officials noted that Hwy 17 will close again this afternoon to allow for safe removal of the logs involved in the crash. Motorists are urged to use caution in the area and to plan alternate routes while crews complete the remaining work.
