On November 5, 2025, Chatham Emergency Services celebrated a proud moment as EMS District Chief Doug Struble received the prestigious Star of Life Award at the American Ambulance Association banquet in Washington, D.C.

The Star of Life Award is one of the highest national honors in emergency medical services, recognizing providers who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and lifesaving excellence. Chief Struble was honored for his extraordinary actions during a prolonged 83-minute cardiac arrest response that resulted in a successful save—an achievement that reflects both advanced clinical skill and unwavering commitment to patient care.
