Driver Flees Scene Following 3-Car Crash in Newburgh

NEWBURGH, NY - On November 29, 2024 around 11:00 A.M., New Windsor Police responded to a three-vehicle MVA with possible entrapment on State Route 32 in the area of Fern Avenue. Police arrived and requested New Windsor EMS and New Windsor FD to the scene. The driver got out of the vehicle and fled towards the City of Newburgh. New Windsor EMS transported three subjects to Montefiore-St. Luke's Hospital. Route 32 was shut down at Lake Drive and Ruscitti Road as vehicle parts were in the roadway. New Windsor Police impounded the vehicle that the person who fled the scene was driving. Firefighters checked the vehicles for hazards and spread speedy dry on fluids on the roadway. The New Windsor Police Dept. is investigating the cause. City of Newburgh Police assisted with locating the registered owner of the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
