Attleboro, MA — November 21 — A cybersecurity issue that caused multiple municipal IT systems to go offline is under investigation by the City of Attleboro. To identify the cause and restore services, city officials are collaborating with cybersecurity experts, the city's insurer, and state and federal agencies.

While email and most city phone lines are unavailable, public safety operations continue without interruption. Residents should continue to call 911 for emergencies. You can reach the Attleboro Police Department at 508-223-2950 and the Attleboro Fire Department at 508-399-8693 for non-emergency requirements.

Attleboro City Hall remains open during normal business hours. Staff are assisting residents using paper forms and temporary procedures. Officials note that some services may be delayed until systems are restored and ask residents for patience during this process. “Our priority is maintaining emergency services and keeping the public informed,” said Mayor Cathleen DeSimone. “We will continue to provide updates as work continues.” Dispatchers have made manual adjustments to communications systems, but emergency calls and mutual-aid coordination are operating normally. The incident does not impact Attleboro Public Schools. Further information will be shared as updates become available.
