February 26, 2026 — The Barnstable Fire Department responded at 5:17 p.m. to a reported structure fire at 4275 Main Street (Route 6A) in Cummaquid after multiple 911 calls confirmed a working fire. A full department recall was initiated, with mutual aid assistance from the Hyannis Fire Department and the Yarmouth Fire Department. Car 3 (Captain, Group 4) arrived to find a 2½-story residential home with an active basement fire. Crews immediately launched an aggressive interior attack and conducted a primary search to confirm no occupants were inside.
