Collings Lakes Fire Department Assists NJFFS in Containing Richland Brush Fire

November 5, 2025 β At approximately 4:18 p.m., Stations 12-3, 12-6, and 12-1 of the Collings Lakes Fire Department were dispatched to the Richland section of Buena Vista Township for a reported brush fire near 226 Weymouth Road.
Upon arrival, NJFFS unit C-9 confirmed roughly ΒΌ acre of woods burning along the roadside. Squad 12-31, staffed with a crew of four, responded and assisted NJ Forest Fire Service units with fire suppression and water supply operations. Engine 12-68 also supported efforts on scene.
During the incident, a separate call was received for an injured dirt bike rider, though it was later determined the incident occurred in Winslow Township. Despite the added activity, crews continued to manage the brush fire with no reported personnel injuries.
Units from Station 12-3 operated for approximately 45 minutes before clearing the scene, marking another busy day in what has been an active year for the department.
