NASHUA, N.H. — November 4 — Numerous reports of a collision involving a box truck and a passenger car stuck beneath it on the F.E. Everett Turnpike prompted Nashua Fire Rescue personnel to react. Engine 5 arrived to find the automobile pinned under the truck, with the driver seriously jammed. A deputy chief, Engine 2, Special Hazards, Ladder 3, and other units were sent to help with a difficult extrication. Just as Boston Med Flight's air-medical support arrived, crews worked to extricate the driver. The patient was swiftly captured and transferred to a Boston hospital. A young passenger suffered minor injuries and was sent to a local hospital. The highway was closed both directions to allow safe landing and conveyance. The reaction displays good cooperation among fire, rescue, and air-medical units.
