Coordinated Response Ensures Safe Extrication and Transport

Pelham, NH — December — 1 A car struck a utility pole with downed wires in front of 27 Keyes Hill Road, prompting the Pelham Fire Department, located at 36 Village Grn, to arrive. There were live wires close to the vehicle and the driver was not responding, according to several 911 reports. Engine 4 arrived first and identified a single person heavily confined. When starting extrication, firefighters asked Liberty Utilities to address electrical risks. Using different tools and equipment, responders tried to safely remove the vehicle from around the patient. The individual was extricated and moved to Medic 1 for advanced care after about 19 minutes of rescue efforts. With severe injuries, the patient was taken to a nearby hospital. The roadway remained restricted until dangers were properly mitigated.
