Catskill Fire Company and Catskill Ambulance were dispatched Friday night to Route 9W South for a reported shed fire. On arrival, the shed was fully involved. The property owner, Catskill Firefighter Rich Overbaugh, had been returning from fire school and used his gear and air pack to safely remove most of the birds kept inside before crews arrived.

A steady wind carried embers into the surrounding area, but firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby structures or vegetation. All units cleared the scene without further incident.
