Mixed Responses Keep Arkport Crews Ready

Arkport, NY — November 8 — Arkport Hose Co. #1 Inc. responded to six calls this week in Hornellsville and the Village of Arkport.

On Sunday, November 2 at 6:58 p.m., workers responded to a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 86 near the scenic overlook. Engine 69, Rescue 38, Car 2, and Car 201 responded, assisted by New York State Police, Hornell City Ambulance, and FleetPride. On Monday, November 3, at 11:16 a.m., an automatic fire alarm was activated in the 1000 block of County Route 66 in Hornellsville. The activation was found to be unintentional. Cars 2 and 27 from North Hornell responded, while all other units remained in quarters.

Later that evening, about 10:00 p.m., members responded to a medical call on West Avenue in the Village. Medic 2, Car 2, and Car 201 aided, while Hornell City Ambulance transported the patient. On Tuesday, November 4, at 8:26 p.m., workers responded to a vehicle-versus-deer collision on I-86 westbound. Engine 69, Rescue 38, Car 2, and Car 202 all responded, with Hornell City Ambulance transporting one patient. New York State Police aided.

On Thursday, November 6, at 2:23 p.m., Arkport and North Hornell Fire were alerted to County Route 66 and North Main Street Extension for downed wires. The scene has been turned over to NYSEG. On Saturday, November 8, crews supported Hornell City Ambulance with a medical call along County Route 66 in Hornellsville. Hornell City handled patient transportation.
