TUPPER LAKE, NY — February 17th — A reported electrical fire at 2445 State Route 30, Building 11 on the Sunmount campus prompted the Tupper Lake Fire Department, located at 21 Santa Clara Ave., Suite 1, PO Box 849. A report of a burning light fixture within the structure prompted the dispatch of Engine 165. After arriving, firefighters investigated the fixture and its surroundings for any indications of electrical risks or fire.

Wiring faults, overheated parts, or equipment failure can all cause electrical problems with lighting fixtures. Workers made sure no fire had spread past the fixture and that the area was safe. Firefighters removed the area and resumed their duties after finishing the evaluation and verifying that the situation was under control.
