On November 7, 2025, Baldwin County Fire Rescue joined the community in downtown Milledgeville for the monthly First Friday’s Touch a Truck event, giving families an up-close look at fire apparatus and the work local firefighters perform each day. The evening included a special appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog, adding excitement for children who had the chance to meet him, explore the trucks, and interact with fire personnel. Firefighters spent time answering questions, sharing safety information, and helping young visitors learn more about fire service operations. The department reported a strong turnout and a positive response from the community, noting that events like Touch a Truck offer an important opportunity to connect with residents in a relaxed and engaging setting.
