DURHAM, NH — November 6 — After a 911 caller reported smoke near external electrical equipment on November 6, 2025, the Durham NH Fire Department responded to a building fire on Colony Cove Road. The residents were told to leave. While crews were en route, a first alarm was sought due to the remote area and limited water supply. Within a wall and floor section, firefighters discovered a smoldering fire between the electric meter and the service panel. To stop the fire from spreading, walls and flooring were opened and a hose line was set up. Before leaving the area, crews looked for any hidden extensions. The house had water, smoke, and material damage, but no one was hurt. Utility officials, McGregor EMS, and mutual-aid departments helped to ensure a prompt and safe response.
