CHESTER, NH — December 23 — During an active snow event on December 23, the Chester Fire Department, situated at 27 Murphy Drive in Chester, New Hampshire, held combined operations training. In winter circumstances, crews simulated entering a home and conducting initial searches for possible victims.

In order to support an inside fire attack, firefighters also worked on pushing hose lines through a structure and communicating via radio with Incident Command. Overhaul operations, which included thermal imaging cameras and hand tools to check walls and ceilings for hidden fire, marked the end of the evolution. Crews can practice in situations that closely resemble actual incidents during the winter. In order to preserve safety, the workshop focused on collaboration, communication, and fundamental fireground skills. Strong participation and ongoing emphasis on readiness through practical, scenario-based training were noted by the department.
