Falmouth, MA —At 7:20 a.m. on Nov. 10th, Falmouth Fire Rescue responded to a reported vehicle fire at Falmouth High School's student parking lot. Engine 21 and Car 28 arrived to find a large fire in the engine compartment of a parked vehicle, with flames growing into the passenger section and putting two other vehicles at risk. Crews built a hydrant supply in response to the fire load and exposure concerns, and the fire was brought under control shortly after arrival.

Two neighboring automobiles experienced minimal external heat damage. There were no injuries recorded. Bus drivers who were on the scene before fire units arrived sought to suppress the fire with extinguishers and were praised for their rapid action. The cause of the fire was found to be mechanical.
