On November 16, 2025, at 8:52 a.m., Quarryville Fire Company Truck 57 was dispatched to assist Bart Township Fire Company for a reported chimney fire in the 1000 block of Mount Pleasant Road. Crews arrived to find multiple blockages inside the chimney flue and an active fire. During the investigation, firefighters discovered a rare situation in which a section of metal liner had deteriorated and collapsed inward, creating a significant obstruction and rendering the chimney unusable. Personnel removed the damaged pipe to fully access and extinguish the fire. Units operated for just over an hour before returning to service.
