November 16, 2025 — Upper Saddle River Fire Department reported that members recently completed the third and final day of a mutual-aid pump class drill hosted by the Ramsey Fire Department, alongside firefighters from Upper Saddle River and Allendale. The collaborative training focused on advanced apparatus operation and large-scale water movement techniques.
According to the department, the session covered foam operations, followed by hands-on water engine pumping using both manual and automatic pump apparatus. Crews practiced relay pumping involving two engines and a ladder truck, reinforcing coordination and communication between multiple agencies. Training concluded with drafting operations from a static water source using Upper Saddle River’s portable tank, during which participants flowed multiple handlines to simulate a high-demand incident.
The Woodcliff Lake Fire Department stated that joint training opportunities like this strengthen operational readiness, improve interoperability, and ensure departments remain prepared for complex emergency responses within the region.
